Tottenham v Man Utd Live
Tottenham Hotspur were 1 up against Manchester United thanks to a wonderful overhead volley scored by Jermain Defoe within the first few minutes.
Man United equalised through Ryan Giggs to level the scores at 1-1 after 25 minutes. Giggs scored direct from a free kick following a foul on ex-Spurs man Dimitar Berbatov, who has been booed every touch by the White Hart Lane faithful.
Man United took the lead through Anderson, who scored his first goal on his 76th start for the Red Devils! It was a rebounded Paul Scholes shot that Anderson tapped home.
The half time whistle blew with Man Utd in the ascendancy – Spurs will have been glad to get in and regroup.
Redknapp can turn a side round with his motivational magic, but it will be hard for Spurs unless United drop from the current high standard of football they are playing. Spurs fans must be wondering what might have been had Berbatov ever played like this in one of their shirts.
After half time, Spurs got a boost when Paul Scholes was sent off for a second bookable offence following a mistimed tackle on Huddlestone.
Despite numerical advantage, Spurs conceded again: a Wayne Rooney goal.
Spurs lose 3-1.
