Russia v Finland 15/10/2008 Highlights
Russia are looking to qualify first in Group Four UEFA World Cup 2010 Qualifying and helped their cause tremendously with this 3-0 win at home to Finland, who could have been expected to run them much closer.
Finland did not help their cause, though, as Russia took a 1-0 lead into half time following an own goal from Pasanen on 22 minutes.
The hosts furthered their lead with goals from Semak (65) and Arshavin (89) to give a rather flattering glean to the score and send out a strong message to Germany who now lead their group – Russia do have a game in hand, and their showdown with the Germans will be a tough one to call:
