Celtic v Manchester United 05/11/2008 ECL Highlights

Celtic took on Manchester United last night in their European Champion’s League Group E fixture and almost stole the show after Scott McDonald scored with a sublime lob on 13 minutes.

Traveling United fans must have been starting to get a little worried as it took United, despite much early dominence, until the 84th minute to level the scores and finish the match 1-1. The goalscorer? None other than Ryan Giggs, still fulfilling his role as a United talisman.

Fergusen will point at resolute defending which kept out his men. Celtic did get the rub of the green both for their goal and in general, so will be happier with their point. United and Villareal still look the likeliest qualifiers from this group but Celtic will be encouraged by their much improved performance which also saw them score a first UEFA Champion’s League goal of the season.
